Preparing for finals

Students writing examLearning Services offers individual assistance and handouts to help students prepare for exams and write them effectively. Free appointments with Learning Peer Helpers are available until the end of classes. The Peers provide practical advice on how to study strategically in specific disciplines and how to find time to prepare during the last weeks of the semester. Learning Services staff are available by appointment throughout the exam period. Handouts include Exam Preparation, Multiple Choice Exams, Short-Answer & Essay Exams, Problem Solving Exams, and Lab Exams. Free paper copies are available in the Learning Commons on the main floor of the Library. More about exam preparation

Focus on individual writing help

Writing Central TAs

Writing Services offers individual appointments up to the end of classes. First-year students can see trained writing Peer Helpers, and all students can make three appointments per semester with professional consultants. For those who can’t get or don’t want individual appointments the Writing Central walk-in is open Monday - Friday in the afternoon and Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. and our Peers are in Mountain Residence from 6-8 pm on Wednesdays. Note that individual appointments fill up fast, so students who need a longer session should book 5-6 days before they want one. More about writing help

Research help service

The Library exists to help students reach their learning, and research goals. Librarians and expert staff on Library Research Help Desks, by phone, email and chat help by assisting in finding, evaluating and using the best information sources. More information about Research Help

New current awareness service

Staff at the library have developed an important new current awareness guide to assist students and researchers in keeping up-to-date with current literature in particular subject areas. Check out these services: table of contents or TOC-based alerting services (receive a journal's TOC by email each time it's published); saved searches alerts (be notified of research in a particular area); web feed or RSS-based services (have alerts sent to a separate reader that can be browsed at leisure). End of semester IT support

The CCS IT Help Desk is open through the end of the semester and during the exam period to provide timely IT support to the U of G community. Our hours of service during this period will be reduced and areavailable on our website. More about IT support
